Can you believe it’s June already…time for transitions, graduation, summer.

It’s been an exciting and productive year. We have enjoyed spending time with your children and look forward to a fun summer together as well. For those of you who have decided to leave early, we wish you the best for this summer and beyond. Thank you all for your participation throughout the year.

I am currently working on our summer enrollment and class assignments. This placement is based on the children’s birthdays and school wide assessment of child-staff ratios. Remember all families are currently enrolled on a 12 month contract which goes through August. If, however, you have plans to withdraw early, please let us know as soon as possible as all transitions are dependent on this information.

A few children will transition to their new classrooms in July, but the full class will not move up until September. If your child is changing classrooms over the summer, I will let you know as soon as possible. Children who are moving up this summer will be visiting their prospective classrooms sometime this month. Children who do not move to their next classroom during the summer will spend some time visiting that class in July and August as preparation.

In addition to transitioning our current students, I am also working on scheduling some of our new fall 2010 families to start over the summer. This will make things smoother for all in September.

Reminders:
- Please send your child to school in shoes good for climbing on the indoor and outdoor equipment and exploring the outdoors. No crocs, flip flops, jellies or clogs please.
- Please check your cubby to see that you have a seasonally appropriate change of clothes.
- Please apply sunscreen if you wish before coming to school in the morning.
- Please do not send “silly bands” to schools with your child. Children have been wrapping them tightly and getting them stuck in hair and on wrists and there have also been issues of confusion as to whose silly bands are whose. No silly bands in school please.

Staff Note: Our new teacher, Lavondra Ham began orientation last week. Lavondra will officially begin working in the classrooms on June 14th. Please take a moment to introduce yourself to Lavondra.
